A lot’s changed in the last 12 months…
Since winning the 2021 Integrator of the Year Award at the AV Awards, we’ve been busy, in fact, it's even surprised us how much we've done over the last year!
We’ve continued to accelerate our social value and sustainability efforts, recruited some of the biggest names in the industry and heavily invested in upskilling our existing longstanding team. We’re also proud to have been awarded a place on the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter.
On top of all that, we’re a finalist for Integrator of the Year at the AV Awards for the second year running.
We’re delivering hybrid and agile learning solutions across numerous universities, as the need for better technology enabling students to work remotely grows. At the University of Wales Trinity St David (UWTSD) this solution has been so popular, that tutors are saying it’s “working too well” as very few students are attending lectures in person.
Our hybrid learning solutions are now being implemented in businesses, enabling more efficient remote working, client meetings and cross-site collaboration.
Similarly in healthcare, we’ve accelerated the adoption of Microsoft Teams Rooms at several trusts and health boards. These rooms provide flexible collaboration across healthcare institutions that were previously unable to share information. Interactive technology is now being more widely adopted in many hospitals, providing digital access for bed and patient management.
Sustainability & Responsibility
As always, we’ve been committed to our sustainability goal to reduce the impact on the environment from our operations. We had a target of becoming net zero by 2035, which we’ve now ambitiously decided to bring forward to 2030 by implementing a reduction plan mapped to the globally recognised Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG).
We’ve continued our work with Urban Outreach, a local charity based in Bolton, donating 2% of all our sales from within the Bolton community to fund the ‘Bolton Lunches’ project. This helps feed over 8,600 children during the holidays.
This is very much a pilot scheme which we plan on expanding into further areas in the coming months and years. Read more about our projects with Urban Outreach here.
The Future
Although it’s been a busy year here at IDNS, the hard work never stops and we have some exciting plans for next year.
We’re setting up a new office in the UWTSD’s new £9.3million Innovation Matrix. We’ll be using the space to service our customers and provide AV work experience for students at the university and the surrounding area.
eSports in education is an area that is gaining momentum with many students pursuing careers in the field, along with other closely linked digital industries. We’re already working with several universities to provide eSports studios and next year we’ll be feeding this down the chain into primary and secondary schools.
Immersive AV technologies are becoming increasingly popular, particularly in the higher education space and we have some exiciting developments coming in the new year. This tech will allow users to see, study and interact with modelled objects in a unique environment, allowing them to better collaborate on their given subject without barriers.
Our long-term aim is to put back into society, the environment, and the global economy more than we take out by pioneering technological change, delivering social value and embedding sustainability in everything we do.
